Stephanie Ching
Special Olympics Athlete
Stephanie Ching (b. 1983) was born with a genetic disorder called down syndrome. She has won multiple medals from participating in the Special Olympics for over 25 years. She loves basketball, floor hockey, tennis and swimming, and is coached by her father who is also a volunteer coach for the Special Olympics. Ching was inducted into the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame in 2006. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Special Olympics Northern California, which is a free year-round sports training and competition program for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
