Matthew Liu
Special Olympic Triathlete
Matthew Liu (b. 2001) from Edison, New Jersey, is one of the youngest triathletes in the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games. He competed in the category of aquatics/swimming. His immigrant parents discovered Liu had autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) when he was two years old. With their support and love, Liu has become a skilled artist, pianist and athlete. He hopes to become an engineer and to compete in the World Games Special Olympics in the future.
