Maia Shibutani
Figure Skater
Maia Shibutani was born in New York City (1994) and grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut. She learned to ice skate when she was four years old at a birthday party. Her brother, Alex, also began taking lessons with her. Together, they became figure skating partners in 2004 and joined the US Olympic team for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics where they placed 9th.
