John Robert "J.R." Celski 

Short Track Speed Skating

John Robert "J.R." Celski was born in Monterey, California (1990) and raised by a father of Polish descent and a mother of Filipino descent. He began roller-blading at age three and won his first national championship at age eight. He later won two bronze medals at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and one silver medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics in short track speed skating. Celski is proud of his Filipino heritage; he loves Filipino food and has a Philippines flag tattoo on his chest.
