LEE Jee Jung (aka Margaret Lee MASTERS)

Lee Jee Jung was sixteen years old when her father Rev. Shau Yan Lee sent for her and her brother to come to America. On Angel Island, the doctors said she was not Chinese because of her curly hair. So she was put in the European women’s dormitory. Jee Jung was detained for twenty-three days and never saw another Chinese person there.
