Jacqueline H. Nguyen
United States Appellate Judge
Jacqueline Hong-Ngoc Nguyen (b. 1965) is a United States Circuit Judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States at age ten. Her family opened a doughnut shop in North Hollywood, where she worked during high school and college. Nguyen has many firsts: first Vietnamese American federal judge, first Asian Pacific Islander American woman federal judge in California and first Asian American woman to serve as a federal appellate judge.
