Don Chee Way (Embarcadero District, San Francisco)

Don Chee was a Chinese American born in San Francisco. He attended the local schools and received his degree in electrical engineering at University of California, Berkeley. He worked for the City of San Francisco for twenty-five years. Don first started as a project manager at Hetch Hetchy Water and then at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (Muni). His first project at Muni was to extend the J Church light rail line from 30th and Church Streets to the Balboa Park BART Station. The F Line Project that he later took over was a huge success. It became one of the most successful vintage streetcar lines in the world. For Don, this was not his job but his passion.
