Don Chee
Project Manager at MUNI
Donald F. Chee (1941-2002) was a Chinese American born in San Francisco, California. He went to the local schools there and to UC Berkeley where he studied electrical engineering. Don was a Peace Corps volunteer, a teacher, an engineer and a Project Manager for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (Muni). Before working for Muni, he was employed at the city’s Hetch Hetchy Water and Power project for twenty-five years. At Muni, Don's first big project was working on the J Church train. Afterwards, he was in charge of his biggest achievement, the F streetcar line that runs from Market Street, through Ferry Plaza in the Embarcadero to Fisherman’s Wharf.
