Coco Lee (b. 1975) was born in Hong Kong. Her father died before she was born and her mother decided to immigrate to San Francisco with her three daughters. Lee represented Raoul Wallenberg Traditional High School in the Miss Teen Chinatown Pageant and won first place. After high school, Lee returned to Hong Kong and began a singing career. She is the first and only Chinese American to have performed at the Oscars, singing “A Love before Time” from the movie, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
