CELESTINO G. ALMEDA (b. 1917)

Place of Birth: Binan City, Laguna, Philippines
Service: During World War II, Celestino fought in the Anti-Sabotage Regiment of the Philippine Commonwealth Army Forces that was under the command of the United States Army Forces in the Far East (USAFFEE). He also served briefly with a US-backed guerilla army.
Post-War: Celestino resumed his career as a teacher. He immigrated to the United States. After many years of appeal and protest, he finally naturalized as a US citizen in 1996. He was also an activist for Filipino veteran rights and benefits.
