Anjali Forber-Pratt
Paralympic Wheelchair Racer
Anjali Forber-Pratt (b. 1984) was adopted from India when she was two months old. Paralyzed from the waist down, she has transverse myelitis. Forber-Pratt competed in world wheelchair sports ever since she was five years old. She raced in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics and the 2012 London Paralympics, receiving two bronze medals at the 2008 Games. Forber-Pratt earned a PhD from the University of Illinois in health sciences and is currently at Vanderbilt University as an Assistant Research Professor focusing on disabilities, identity and empowerment for people with disabilities. She is also training for the 2016 Rio Paralympics.
